Asuu Strike: Awaiting Buhari Approval Over Agreement Reached Between House Of Representative and Lecturers

The Academic Staff Union of Universities(Asuu) has reached new agreement with the federal government.

The leadership of house representatives on Tuesday brokered the new agreement at National Assembly Abuja.

The agreement reached with the federal government is subjected to president Muhammadu buhari who is currently at United Nation, over meetings with the General Assembly in United Nation.

Professor Osedeke Emmanuel, the president of Academic Staff Union of Universities while Goodluck Opiah represent the minister of state education.

After the close-door session, Femi Gbajabiamila announced the positive outcome of the meeting which await the approval of the president, Muhammadu buhari.

He declosed the law maker will present the agreement to president Muhammadu buhari upon his arrival and therefore ought the Academic Staff Union of Universities to do same with their members.

” The seven basic areas present by the academic staff Union of Universities, we have looked on, of which we have more and less agreed on certain things. Once it is done, the leadership of the legislative arm will present and await president Muhammadu buhari who is in ongoing meeting with General Assembly. I believe the president Muhammadu buhari will embrace it which will led to speedly brought to close” he said.

The law maker on Thursday, meet with National Information Technology Agency, the Account General of Federation, The Auditor General for the Federation and National Salaries Wages and Income Commission to discuss further of it resolvement.

The President of Academic staff Union of Universities, professor Osedeke Emmanuel, gives hope that “the issues of strike embarked on 14th February  will be resolved as soon as possible”.he said While speaking on the meeting.
