Asuu Strike: No Going Back on Plan To Shut Down Abuja Airport, Lagos Expressway – NANS PRESIDENT
The National Association of Nigeria Student(NANS) vow to shutdown airport Amids of strike.
The president of National Association of Nigeria Student (NANS), Faruk Umar vowed to shut down Nnamdi Azikiwe international Airport, Abuja and Murtala Muhammad international Airport, Lagos on 19th September 2022.
Umar Faruk, the National Association of Nigeria Students, (NANS) insisted until the strike is called off to stop all blockage across the cities in Nigeria.
According to Tribune, the threat of Shutting down the Airport by National Association of Nigeria Students, (NANS) over the upaid salaries of Academic staff Union of Universities (Asuu) accumulated for months which lead to shut down of Lagos and Abuja international airports has beefed up securities in airport by Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
Some critics, faulted National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) over the shutdown assuring them not the key to resolved the lingering strike over seven months.
The president of Academics academic staff Union of Universities, professor Osedeke Emmanuel said on Thursday, “the lingering strike will be called off if a concrete agreement is reached with the federal government” during the meeting at National Town Hall, Abuja.
National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS)- Southwest co-ordinator, Olatunji Emmanuel said, “we know the protests may leads to suffering of road users, but wanted our parents to feel the heats of the embarked strike over seven months and be able to due something for students to go back their various campuses for academic field of study”.
” We will continue our protest, of which may affect the federal government. After doing the protests about two to three major high ways then we move to government parastatals in order to called off the lingering strike embarked since February 14th, 2021 till the Strike resolved for students go back to their campuses “.
